Thank you <3

Julia Lai

To my loyal & supportive friends:

There are no words that could ever express the gratitude that I feel for your support. Whether you've followed along from the start or you're a newcomer, you're part of the reason that I am able to do what I love to do every single day of my life.

When I was 16 years old, thinking this would be a fun summer project to try before my senior year of high school, I never thought I would be where I am today. Your continuous support has allowed to me to support myself but it has also given me much more than that. You have helped me believe in myself, in my art and in my own abilities like I never had before. Never in my wildest dreams did I think it possible to be an artist -- at least one that wasn't seriously struggling ("starving artist"). What was even more unimaginable and incomprehensible to me was the idea that I could or would run my own business. Me? LOL. I am no genius, I am no prodigy and I'm definitely not freakishly talented or intelligent. I was just a 16 year old kid who liked to draw, who took a chance. Yet you believed in me. You supported me and were patient with me. You allowed me to make mistakes and understood that I'm human.

Now, I'm 21 years old (22 in just a few days) and I believe in myself. I know that I am an artist and a business owner. I know that I can handle whatever comes my way. Everything that I have and everything that I have become in these 5 years is largely because of this little business and the community that has come of it. I don't know exactly what my future holds, but I know anything is possible and that anyone can be who they want or do what they want. Because if hundreds of people bought janky hand drawn stickers from a 16 year old in 2016 (I'm talking pre-iPad was not good...) then truly, you can make anything happen for yourself.

Thank you for the kindness, for your support & for your faith in my little shop. They're just stickers to some people, but for me it's my whole world. Because of these stickers, I get to be an artist and share my art with the world. I get to be design things, be creative & write little handwritten notes to my customers. Every single order makes me smile and not a day goes by that I don't think about how lucky I truly am.

Everyday I get comments and dm's about how you love my handwriting or my art, or that I inspire you. But it's you guys that inspire me everyday to be creative and run my business to the best of my ability. In fact, it was you all that inspired me many years ago, asking me to sell stickers and open a shop. Well...I did it. I hope I made you proud. :)
